For the second consecutive year, FibreTrace® has won Best Use of Technology for Good at the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022.
The awards recognise the strides that are being made in reducing the fashion industry’s environmental impact and creating fairer working conditions across the supply chain.
Judged by an independent panel of sustainability and fashion retail experts, the awards shine a spotlight on best practice within the industry, so other brands can become inspired to make positive changes in their businesses to improve sustainability. The panel described FibreTrace®’s patented technology as “absolutely incredible” and a “complete game changer”.
Over the last 12 months, FibreTrace® has come to the global market with Reformation, 7 For All Mankind, Nobody Denim, Belda Llorens, Sapphire Textiles, IMPETUS Group, Harris Tweed Hebrides and British Wool to supercharge traceability across several fibre types to the global textile and fashion industry supply chain. Our pilot program with Harris Tweed and British Wool launched the first FibreTrace® marked, verified and authenticated wool to the UK market.
We partnered with the Higg in September of 2021 to combine its Fibre Impact Module - an integrated sustainability performance benchmarking capturing GHG emissions at the raw fibre level - with Higg's suite of tools to capture facility-level data across a brand's entire value chain. We are currently in early trialing stages with brands for this technology.
Today, we are working with the largest producers of recycled polyester, responsible viscose, carbon positive cotton, wool and linen to supercharge more responsible fibre choices to market, backed by traceability.
Drapers trade magazine has been the UK fashion industry’s “bible” since 1887. The awards, launched in 2020, are open to fashion brands, retailers and suppliers that operate in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Jill Geoghegan, acting editor of Drapers, said: “Despite the challenges thrown up by the coronavirus pandemic, fashion brands and retailers increasingly recognise that sustainability is a business imperative.
The Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards highlight and celebrate these advancements, paving the way for a more responsible future for the industry.”
